Why Hire a Doula?

While every birth is unique and outcomes can never be guaranteed, research consistently shows that continuous labor support from a doula is associated with:

  • Lower rates of cesarean birth and medical interventions

  • Shorter labors and reduced use of pain medication

  • Greater confidence, reduced anxiety, and improved communication with care providers

  • Higher satisfaction with the overall birth experience

Welcome, I'm Kaitlyn!

My journey into doula work began with my first birth.

My oldest child was born in a hospital in April of 2020—a time filled with uncertainty and fear for many families. During that birth, I experienced care that was not supportive of my informed decisions, and I felt fear introduced into a space that should have felt safe and empowering. That experience stayed with me and deeply shaped how I view birth and the kind of support families deserve.

Since then, I’ve gone on to have three more children and have personally experienced a wide range of births, including hospital and home births, medicated and unmedicated labors, and inductions. Each experience taught me something different and deepened my understanding of how important individualized, respectful care truly is.

Through my own births, I’ve learned how powerful it is to feel heard, supported, and confident in your choices—and how difficult it can be when that support is missing. Those experiences are what ultimately led me to doula work.

As a doula, I bring both professional training and personal understanding into the birth space. I offer steady, compassionate support rooted in evidence-based information, respect for your autonomy, and a deep belief that how you are treated during birth matters.

It is an honor to walk alongside families during such a vulnerable and transformative season, and I am passionate about helping you feel supported, informed, and empowered as you welcome your baby.

My Philosophy

I believe birth is a normal, powerful experience and that every family deserves care that is respectful, informed, and centered on their values.

My approach to doula care is rooted in informed consent, bodily autonomy, and compassionate presence. I believe there is no one “right” way to give birth—only the way that feels right for you. My role is to support you in understanding your options and feeling confident in the decisions you make.

I support families planning hospital births, home births, medicated or unmedicated labors, inductions, and planned cesareans. I do not replace medical providers or make decisions on your behalf. Instead, I offer evidence-based information, emotional reassurance, physical comfort, and steady support throughout your journey.

I am also a follower of Christ, and my faith informs the way I approach this work—with humility, compassion, and a deep respect for the sacredness of birth and family. I am honored to support families of all backgrounds and beliefs, and I strive to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and cared for.

Above all, I believe that you deserve to feel heard and supported—and that feeling empowered in birth can have a lasting impact far beyond the day your baby is born.
