Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. I support hospital, home, medicated, and unmedicated births. My role is not to push a specific type of birth, but to support your choices and help you feel informed, grounded, and cared for throughout the process.
Birth can be unpredictable. I remain a steady, supportive presence whether plans shift due to induction, epidural, cesarean birth, or other changes. Your experience matters, regardless of how birth unfolds.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. Some clients want hands-on support, others prefer gentle reassurance or quiet guidance. We’ll talk through preferences during prenatal visits, and I remain flexible as your needs change.
I support the entire birth team. This may look like offering reassurance, suggesting comfort measures, helping partners rest, or stepping back when privacy is needed. My goal is to support and strengthen your existing support system, not replace it.
I support families in a variety of birth settings, including hospitals, birth centers, and home births. I attend births across southeastern Wisconsin, including Washington, Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Dodge, and Fond du Lac Counties. If you’re planning a birth at a specific location, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to discuss your options and ensure you feel fully supported wherever you choose to give birth.
During our prenatal visits, you’ll receive clear guidance on when to text versus when to call, so you never have to worry about reaching out “too early.” I would always rather hear from you sooner than later.
Yes. I am on call starting at 38 weeks until baby is born which outlined in your contract. Birth lengths vary, and my support is not limited by an hourly clock. All expectations are discussed clearly ahead of time so there are no surprises.
Birth support includes prenatal visits, continuous labor support, emotional and physical comfort measures, advocacy support, and a postpartum follow-up visit. Full details are outlined on the services page and reviewed during your consultation.
Yes. All birth support includes a single postpartum follow-up visit where we can reflect on your birth experience, address questions, and discuss the early postpartum transition. This visit is not ongoing postpartum doula care, but a supportive check-in after birth.
I may not be the best fit if you’re looking for someone to direct your birth or make decisions for you. My role is to support your voice and choices, not replace them.
I accept cash, check or Venmo. I do not accept HSA/FSA cards, but I can provide a receipt for possible insurance reimbursement. If you choose to cancel care, payment is non-refundable. If I miss your birth for any reason and a backup doula cannot attend, you will be refunded $400.
